The winger has been rewarded for his fine form for Middlesbrough last year with his rating being increased.

Aston Villa’s Transfer Deadline Day recruit Albert Adomah has been handed an improved rating on FIFA 17.

The former Middlesbrough man was given a rating of 72 on FIFA 16, but is now a 74 on the new edition of the game.

To put Adomah’s rating into context, he is ranked higher than any of the players who he earned promotion with at Middlesbrough last year, with only Jordan Rhodes and former Villa man Stewart Downing on level par.

Sergio Aguero is the highest rated player in the Premier League with an 89 rating, but Adomah’s 74 will certainly make him one of the best ranked players in the Championship.

Whether his rating will make him the best Villa player on the game remains to be seen. Ross McCormack was rated at 74 on FIFA 16 and his stock is expected to have grown following another terrific season with Fulham and the £12 million move.

Lots of Villa players are expected to receive lower rankings with all being revealed on the release day, 22 September.

What rating do you think that Albert Adomah should get?
